IN MEMORY OF CHELSEA MAC

September 16, 1995 - February 29, 2008

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved friend and companion, Chelsea who has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge today, February 29, 2008. She fought a brave battle with her injured leg, but it was obvious that she was in pain. She could barely walk anymore and the medicine just wasn't helping.

Chelsea had gone lame and had several growths of cancer on her groin and abdomen. She was so courageous right to the end. Much more so than I. I held her in my arms and she passed painlessly and peacefully. Uncle George, Patti and I were all close to her and stroking her as she fell asleep. She knew she was well-loved and will always be missed. We are trying our best to cope with her absence, but it will be hard. I'm sure she is in a better place now, and I'm sure she will be playing with all her friends who went before her.

A special thank you goes out to Dr. Jocelyn McQuarrie and the staff at St. Vital Veterinary Hospital who very very kind and understanding.

Good bye Chelsea, till we meet again. You will be missed very, very much.

Your loving family, Daddy Gerry, Mommy Patti, Uncle George and of course your best friend and sister Hayley Cat.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Chelsea's Final Resting Place

This is where Chelsea where will be resting now. Many thanks to Kevin for making the beautiful wooden box for her and of course Grandma Mac for making the velvet liner to keep her safe inside.

Thank you,

Gerry and Patti
